Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre is finally hanging up the gloves for good.
GSP is widely considered the greatest fighter to ever compete in the sport and only fighter to ever completely clean out a division as he defended his title 9 times in a row before moving up to Middleweight and taking the title there.
According to a report from Benoit Beaudoin of RDS, the Canadian legend is holding a press conference at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Thursday morning, GSP will announce his retirement from MMA at the stadium. This retirement has allegedly been spurred on by failed negotiations for a fight with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov:
Translated from French by Microsoft:
Tomorrow’s conference @GeorgesStPierre at the BELL CENTRE. According to information collected by RDS, he will announce his retirement.

When Khabib hear the news, he went to social media with a plea that’s so heartwarming and exciting that it will chill your bones:
Let’s do it in November.
After this fight you can retire. I grow up on your fights, and have nothing but respect for you, and I believe showed that to you George when you were in Moscow.… https://t.co/btkxMFPBhh

Just spoke to GSP. He didn’t want to go into too much details. I asked about @TeamKhabib‘s message and he said: “I saw what Khabib wrote, and I appreciate it very much. Unfortunately, these decisions aren’t up to us. I will address everything at the press conference tomorrow.”
