This past weekend at the UFC 234 post-fight press conference, Anderson Silva called out Nick Diaz for a rematch of their 2015 battle to a no contest. Anderson said that he and Nick’s team have been in contact about the match.
“I think it’s a very interesting fight, I talked to Nick’s manager a couple months ago, and Nick said, ‘OK, let’s go do it. Let’s talk to Dana (White).’ I’m just waiting for Dana.”
Nick hasn’t fought since the Silva bout in 2015 is retired according to teammate Gilbert Melendez:
“Our boy, Nick, he’s been retired, I would love to see him come back, but last time I checked, he’s retired. I know If anyone could come back and do it and stay on track and everything, it’s him. I’d love to see him one day, if the fight is right, I think he’ll come back out, and if the contract’s right I think he’ll come back out. But last I’ve heard, he’s hung it up.”
Yesterday Nick posted an Instagram story confirming his retirement:
“Look bro, we’re getting drunk right now…. F*** all this – I don’t want to hurt nobody. I just want to party,”
